Recycling/Surplus/Solid Waste Services List

RSSW Services We Continue to Provide

Recycling:

  1. Maintain current interior stations for service
  2. Maintain current exterior stations
  3. Explore recycling at campus events and formulate a possible plan for service
  4. Explore sustainability issues with departments as they relate to Recycling
  5. Schedule rolloffs for move in and move out at Resident Halls
  6. Provide Litter & Solid Waste service, for a fee, for on-campus events such as Football, BBQ’s picnics, etc.
  7. Maintain the scheduling and billing for SW on campus.
  8. Maintain current drop box service at FM and Kibbie.
  9. Maintain Solid Waste Management Across Campus

Surplus:

  1. Maintain the collection of surplus property from university departments to the limits of our equipment and staff capability.
  2. Maintain the Bid sales of property that has been declared surplus.
  3. Maintain the tracking and disposal on material and reporting to Asset Management for inventory
  4. Collect, process, ship and account for universal waste such as batteries, monitors and fluorescent tubes
  5. Maintain and update Surplus Property website
  6. Explore ways to streamline collection requests and listings for university transfer of materials from surplus

Solid Waste: Maintain current solid waste programs and schedules across campus.

RSSW Services We No Longer Provide

  1. Event recycling
  2. Adding additional office sites
  3. Interior cardboard pickup
  4. Office relocation or moves
  5. Equipment relocations
  6. Furniture assembly and movement
  7. Moving heavy or oversized equipment & materials from any department to Surplus. City North American handles this service at Department expense.

Services Departments & Staff Must Perform Themselves

  1. Dumping trash into central containers
  2. Putting recycling in central containers
  3. Breaking down boxes and bringing to exterior containers
  4. Moving furniture in office
  5. Reducing waste/recycling generated
  6. Getting inventory #’s off inventory list when equipment in to be surplused
  7. Filling out Spurs before dropping off materials at Surplus
  8. Notifying surplus about dropping off materials
